Megan Eisel, PA-C, CAQ-Derm is the founder and owner of Driftless Skin Center, P.C.  She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in 2001 with a bachelor's degree with honors in Biology. She then went on to Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center graduating in 2003 with a degree in Physician Assistant Studies. While at DMU, she was inducted into the Alpha Eta Honor Society. Following graduation she moved to the Chicagoland area where she worked in general private dermatology practice for 8 years, before moving to Dubuque, IA in 2011 to continue her career as a dermatology physician assistant at Grand River Medical Group. In 2024 she founded Driftless Skin Center, P.C.

In addition to working as a dermatology physician assistant, she also enjoys educating and precepting both physician assistant students and medical students. She currently serves on the University of Dubuque Physician Assistant Program Advisory Board and is an Affiliate Clinical Assistant Professor for the Master of Physician Assistant Studies program. Most recently in 2023, she was awarded a Certificate of Added Qualification in Dermatology (CAQ-Derm) by the NCCPA in its inaugural year for dermatology physician assistants. The certification recognizes that Megan has advanced knowledge, skills, and experience in the specialty of dermatology, including passing a dermatology specific board exam. She has also been recognized as a diplomate fellow of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants since 2008. She holds memberships with the Iowa Physician Assistant Society and the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. 

Megan enjoys caring for patients with a variety of dermatological issues including acne, rosacea, psoriasis, rashes, eczema, alopecia, warts, nail disorders, and skin cancer. She enjoys treating patients of all ages and has been fortunate to form long lasting relationships with those she cares for. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of dermatology and continues to provide exceptional care to her patients in Dubuque and the surrounding tri-state area. She looks forward to welcoming you to her practice.

Jacob Lorsung, PA-C, CAQ-Derm, is a board-certified Physician Assistant specializing in medical dermatology. He earned his Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Dubuque and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Northern Iowa. Jacob also holds the Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Dermatology, recognizing advanced training and expertise in the field. He has also been a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and completed his diplomate fellowship of the society in 2020. He has extensive experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin conditions, including skin cancer, acne, eczema, psoriasis, and other dermatologic diseases, and performs procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and cryotherapy.

Prior to joining Driftless Skin Center, Jacob practiced dermatology in the Des Moines area for six years, where he cared for a high volume of patients and developed a strong focus on thorough, evidence-based care and skin cancer detection. He is passionate about helping patients feel confident in their skin and believes in building lasting relationships through compassionate, personalized care. Jake and his family are excited to return to northeast Iowa and become part of the Driftless community

Steph joins us with 28 years of healthcare experience. She graduated from Kirkwood Community College with a Medical Assisting Certificate and began her career in a dermatology clinic in the Dubuque area. She became a certified coder and compliance auditor shortly after that. She continued that journey for 23 years, working with Megan for 13 of those years. In her spare time, Steph enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, her dog (Tucker), family, and friends. She looks forward to starting this new chapter in her career.

Tara has 25+ years of experience working as a receptionist in the medical field, and is excited to continue working as a receptionist at Driftless Skin Center.  She and her husband, Neal, have two children, Brittany and Cody. Her daughter, Brittany, was recently married, bringing a son-in-law, Hayden, to the family. In her spare time she enjoys watching Cody play hockey, and enjoys vacationing and camping in Prairie Du Chien, WI. She is excited to be a part of the Driftless team and is looking forward to seeing many familiar faces on this new journey. 

Heather graduated with her RN degree in 2019 from NICC. She has nursing experience in medical/surgical inpatient medicine, orthopedics, pain medicine, and worked as a travel nurse during the Covid-19 pandemic. She has worked in dermatology with Megan for the last 4 years. She enjoys getting her nails done in fun colors and designs, and also enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and dog (Tito). You can usually find her outdoors anytime the weather is nice. She is excited to be a part of the Driftless Skin Center team, and looks forward to taking care of you. 

Abby graduated from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine Radiation Therapy program in 2018. She worked as a Radiation Therapist for the last 6 years before joining the Driftless team where she will be working as a medical assistant and patient liaison. She and her husband Josh have one son, Jude, and two French bulldogs, Beau and Bruce. In her spare time she loves reading books, going on walks, & spending time with her friends, family, nieces and nephews. Abby is so excited to be a part of the Driftless team and looks forward to helping you!

Jenna is a dedicated Registered Nurse with a strong clinical background and a passion for dermatologic health. She graduated from NICC with her associates degree in nursing in 2020. Jenna has nursing experience in the nursery/NICU, urgent care, and family medicine. She has 3 years of dermatology experience. Jenna strives to ensure each patient feels informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their treatment journey. When not in the clinic, Jenna enjoys spending time outdoors, going for walks, getting coffee, and spending time with her family.

Erica is a licensed nurse with over five years of experience and a special focus in dermatology. Erica values patient education, trust, and long-term skin health.Outside the clinic, she enjoys life with her husband, three kids—Laci, Krew, and Ivey—and their dog, Buck.  She looks forward to continuing her commitment to compassion, balance, and connection as part of the Driftless Skin Center team.

Tori graduated from NICC with her associates degree as a CMA in 2022. Following graduation, she began her nursing career working in orthopedics. After 3 years there, she is excited to advance her career and gain knowledge in dermatology. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, spending time with friends, and updating her home with her boyfriend. She is excited to join the Driftless Skin Center Team.
